No. Every1 starts in AFSC 65F1. In order to get next level of qualification you need to serve as a finanace officer for at least 18 months. This is for every AFSC in AF - last digit is your qualification level - for officers 1(new people),3,5(highest level). For enlisted - 3,5,7,9. it takes on average 2-3 years to reach next level of competency. Your pay doesn’t depend on it though, only your possible assignments. They are trying not to put people with low level in positions that require responsibility of higher levels, since you might not be able to perform accordingly - that’s the whole point of this system.
