Вот и у меня такая была. Суд потыкал полисмена в неё носом и признал, что это и правда права.
муж сдавал в НЙ на русском, сдать теорию и вождение в один день нельзя, т.к. после успешной сдачи теории надо прослушать курс в автошколе и только после этого записываться. как нам сказали, что записаться раньше, чем за месяц не получится из-за очередей, поэтому записали его на сдачу вождения где-то через месяц.
Подтверждать проживание в штате надо обязательно.
Ничего не поняла 
Получается, если у меня друзья приезжают из Киргизии - они смогут по своим киргизским правам ездит или нет? Вроде бы писано-переписано, что международные не нужны , они не признаются .Должны быть национальные. А тут выходит , что национальные тоже не признаются.Так по каким правам можно ездить пока не получишь американские?

Спасибо, так и сделаю.Только надо еще и Калифорнию смотреть - они туда тоже хотят смотаться. А я сижу ровно-уверена, что все ОК
По КР правам вроде можно ездить ( я не уверенна правда)
Тут другой нюанс, как полицейский или в ренте авто, поймут , что это права , а не проездной на трамвай?
Там же только на русском и кирг-ом написанно.

Они хотят сделать нотариально заверенный перевод. У нас тут уже была тема по этому поводу, как раз о Калифорнии
Но чего-то теперь опять все проверить хочется.

International Driving Permits
The State of California does not recognize an International Driving Permit (IDP) as a valid driver license. California does recognize a valid driver license that is issued by a foreign jurisdiction (country, state, territory) of which the license holder is a resident.
The IDP is only a translation of information contained on a person’s foreign driver license and is not required to operate a motor vehicle in California. Citations issued to a person in California who has an IDP, but does not have a California driver license will be placed on the Department of Motor Vehicle database.
The IDP is also called an International Driver License, International License, etc.
If you are a visitor in California over 18 and have a valid driver license from your home state or country, you may drive in this state without getting a California driver license as long as your home state license remains valid.

Да, Melisanta, имено эту информацию я им и отправила, мы все и расслабились.А теперь почитала тему и забеспокоилась)) В Техасе -то мы их подстрахуем.А в Калифорнии уже и отель и машина забронированы - не хотелось бы неожиданостей))
Почему забеспокоилась тогда?
PS А, вижу. Просто не поймут местные стражи порядка, что это за документ? Можно и правда к правам сделать перевод либо тот же IDP.

В общем, надо иметь заверенный нотариально перевод, как выяснилось.
На всякий случай размещаю здесь информацию, что мы нашли - может кому пригодится.Это , что касается Техаса и Калифорнии.
Short-Term Visitors who want to drive in USA
If you plan to drive when you visit the United States, check the driving rules in the state(s) you’ll be visiting to verify that you can use your non-U.S. driver’s license.
If you want to rent a car, find out the rental company’s policies in advance. You may need both your driver’s license and an International Driving Permit (IDP). An IDP is identification that contains your name, photo, and driver information translated into 10 languages.
The United States does not issue International Driving Permits to foreign visitors. You will need to obtain this document in the country that issued your driver’s license before you travel to the United States.
In Texas, It is normally your foreign license and not your international driving license or permit (IDP) that allows you to drive in the United States. The international license or permit is normally a translation of your foreign license from your home country, so one can be helpful to law enforcement if you are pulled over, however your actual valid driver’s license is what allows you to drive in the US legally.
The Texas Driver’s Manual states that nonresidents (at least 18 years of age) may drive any vehicle in Texas if they are legally licensed to drive such a vehicle in their home state or country, and their home state or country grants like recognition to citizens of Texas.
The TX Department of Public Safety notes that generally, a person 18 to 75 years of age with a valid out-of-country driver license in their possession may drive a private, non-commercial motor vehicle in the State of Texas for up to one year from date of entry into the United States, if their home country has reciprocity with the U.S.
For visitors to California, the relevant provisions here are California Vehicle Code §12502 and §12505. In summary, if you have a valid driving license from another state or a foreign country, and you’re not driving for work or driving a truck or anything special like that, you can use it (a) forever if you do not become a resident or (b) for 10 days after you do become a resident. The IDL (actually IDP) is just a convenience for the cops if they are confronted with a license with foreign words on it. The IDP as such actually carries no legal weight.
For international residents, Enterprise Rent-A-Car requires that they provide a valid driver’s license from their country of residence. They must also have their non-expired license with them. Also, if the license is not in English, Enterprise requires that the driver provide an international drivers permit.

along with his/her spouse and children.
Students

Legal Visitors and Temporary Resident Aliens - Any foreign tourist, teacher, or businessperson who holds a valid license issued
by such personʼs home country may operate with his or her license for up to one year. However, if the license is in a language
other than English, it must be accompanied by a valid International Driving Permit.
New Connecticut Residents
Anyone who operates a motor vehicle or motor-driven cycle on public roadways in Connecticut is required to have a driverʼs
license. You are required to obtain a Connecticut driverʼs license if you live in the state for more than 30 days. This must be done before you can register a motor vehicle.

Tam dolzhno byt napisano “Permis de conduire” na francuzskom.
На обычном водительском удостоверении Украины (не международные права) основные пункты подписаны на украинском и французском (вроде как международное требование). Имя и фамилия дублируются латинским алфавитом. Просто не все американцы могут это быстро найти и разобрать. Но уж если их ткнуть носом, то проблем в дальнейшем не возникает.
Я это и имел в виду сообщением выше.
Как в киргизских правах, я не знаю, но на французском вроде бы должно быть обязательно.
