Which American accent do you have?
Northern
You have a Northern accent. That could either be the Chicago/Detroit/Cleveland/Buffalo accent (easily recognizable) or the Western New England accent that news networks go for.
You have a Midland accent" is just another way of saying “you don’t have an accent.” You probably are from the Midland (Pennsylvania, southern Ohio, southern Indiana, southern Illinois, and Missouri) but then for all we know you could be from Florida or Charleston or one of those big southern cities like Atlanta or Dallas. You have a good voice for TV and radio.

Как по мне, это тест для коренных американцев, а у большинства наших акцент для американского уха русский. Еще, правда, некоторые путают с немецким и иногда с французским, но никак не с коренным американским :pardon:

Youre not Northern, Southern, or Western, youre just plain -American-. Your national identity is more important than your local identity, because you don`t really have a local identity. You might be from the region in that map, which is defined by this kind of accent, but you could easily not be. Or maybe you just moved around a lot growing up.

Boston
You definitely have a Boston accent, even if you think you don’t. Of course, that doesn’t mean you are from the Boston area, you may also be from New Hampshire or Maine.
без всяких тестов могу сказать, что 90% выходцев из бСССР, проживающих сейчас на родине или недавно эмигрировавших в США, имеют сильнейший русский/украинский/белорусский акцент)))

Judging by how you talk you are probably from north Jersey, New York City, Connecticut or Rhode Island. Chances are, if you are from New York City (and not those other places) people would probably be able to tell if they actually heard you speak.

А вообще интересно. Есть ведь люди, которые действительно верят, что у них акцент полностью американский (northern, southern, etc. - нужное подчеркнуть) и что их речь от американской не отличить Особенно интересно это наблюдать у тех, кто в США и не жил долго, но уверен, что нашего акцента у него (нее) нет

Если слух абсолютный, и языком заниматься с детства, то ещё как-то можно вытянуть, что не с первой фразы соотечественники будут узнавать :D…
Ребят, у меня вопрос к тем кто из Флориды:
Я тут начал заниматься с новым преподавателем по английскому (он очень крутой с точки зрения преподавания, в общем я очень доволен в этом смысле), так вот, он из Флориды. Когда с ним разговариваешь все ок, но очень сильно бросается в глаза, вернее в уши, мягкое L в конце слов, т.е. у него слово “people” звучит примерно как “пипль”. Я такого раньше не слышал, у них там во Флориде все так разговаривают?
Не знаю как у всех,но у меня муж после двух лет в Америке,приехал в НЗ,и некоторые местные думают,что он из США,а не из РФ или Европы.Просто надо работать над собой и над акцентом,а не только над лексикой.Вот ему помогал его друг американец,который исправлял его ошибки в речи,ударения в словах и предложениях.Так что обязательно надо иметь рядом человека из среды,который сможет тебе помочь и скажет как правильно.Про себя молчу,мне для начала хоть с русским 
акцентом выучить инглиш)))
Меня всегда спрашивают, не из Quebec, Canada ли я или из Франции.
