Changes to USMLE Procedures for Reporting Scores

Starting July 1, 2011, USMLE transcripts reported through the ERAS reporting system will no longer include score results on the two-digit score scale. USMLE results will continue to be reported on the three-digit scale. This affects the Step 1, 2 CK, and 3 examinations only; Step 2 CS will continue to be reported as pass or fail. These changes do not alter the score required to pass or the difficulty of any of the USMLE Step examinations.

APPLICATION FORM
Thank you for your interest in participating in the NBME Field Trial of New Assessment Formats,which will be conducted on selected dates between June 3rd, and June 15th 2011. Please enter your information in the application form provided below. Fields marked with an asterisk(*) are required.
The deadline for submitting applications is May 23, 2011 at 11:59 PM (Eastern Time, US).
After the application deadline, the NBME will use stratified random sampling to select participants from the pool of applicants. Only one application form per person will be considered in the selection pool; duplicates will be excluded.
Those selected to participate will be notified by e-mail on or around May 31, 2011.The status notification e-mail will include your scheduled session date which will be assigned based on the preferences indicated using the drop-down lists below. Applicants who have not been selected will also be notified by e-mail.

WHO SHOULD APPLY
Applicants must have previously taken and passed USMLE Step 1. The NBME is planning to select the 325 participants from the following groups.
Students or recent graduates of medical schools in the U.S. and Canada accredited by the Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME) or the American Osteopathic Association (AOA)
Students or recent graduates of medical schools outside the U.S. and Canada and who have applied to the ECFMG for certification
First-year residents (PGY-1s) in any specialty; more senior residents (PGY-2s, PGY-3s, and PGY-4s) in Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Pediatrics and Med-Peds program
The NBME is seeking about 325 eligible participants for the field trial. There is no charge for participation. Each participant who completes all sections of the field trial will receive a $150.00 honorarium and be entered into a drawing for an Apple iPad. Additionally, those participants who score in the top 25% of the total examinee group will be entered into a drawing for a $250.00 American Express gift card, with the winner’s name to be posted on the NBME web site on August 1st, 2011.
Only those participants who complete all sections of the field trial will be eligible for the honorarium or drawings.
By applying to participate in this field trial, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by the provisions contained in this announcement including permission to post your name on the NBME website as the winner of the American Express gift card. Those who do not wish to be bound by these provisions should not apply.

Здравствуйте еще раз!!! Друзья, разъясните пожалуйста еще такой момент: Если сразу по приезду пройти курсы CNA, потом соответственно, начать работать CNA, остается ли потом возможность сдавать экзамены USMLE, т.е. сохраняет ли российский врачебный диплом в таком случае свой статус?
Возможность остается, а вот времени - очень мало.
Вы имеете в виду, что мало свободного времени, которое можно посвятить подготовке?

Добрый день. Огромное Вам спасибо Юлия, уже несколько лет слежу за этой веткой. случайно провалил 1 степ УСМЛИ 
. я читал про последствия, но хотелось бы услышать именно Вашего мнения. насколько это критично? есть ли смысл сдавать последующие степы и пересдавать первый. по специальности врач-терапевт, готов пойти на любую программу в любую больницу. есть ли шанс? что лучше сейчас делать чтобы попасть в клинику? заранее спасибо.
Провал на экзамене - (1) показатель того, что не доучили, зато видно где конкретно (хотя все равно придется перечитывать все); (2) от пересдачи никуда не деться, для 2 степа основы тоже надо знать очень хорошо.
Я знаю людей, которые успешно доезжали до цели с, так сказать, с лошадью впереди (сначала Степ 1, потом 2), так и позади (сначала Степ 2, потом 1) телеги. Но при проваленном степе вам надо получить ОЧЕНь ВЫСОКИЕ скоры, чтобы претендовать на резидентуру.

Я взяла архивную справку в интституте с предметами и количеством часов, отдали на перевод. Есть еще чтото что я должна сделать! Мы едем по гринкарте, планирую сдавать степы.
